This is a portrait of an older, wiser Luke Skywalker, in the "Legacy of the Force" era of novels. I tried to age him, by way of some creases and wrinkles and a touch of silvering at the temples--I had plenty of help with the likeness and the aging (thanks again, AG88, for all the feedback and progress checks), and I hope this works for all the Luke fans out there!

Mechanical and classic graphite pencils on Bristol board.

Wow I think you did a really good job making him look older but still look Luke-ish! Great work!

Thanks--it's always a struggle, trying to "age" the well-known characters...how much is too much? Not enough...? I'm glad it still looks like Luke to you, though--and thanks so much! :D

Wow. I want to see what you do with Anakin Solo. I always thought that whoever chose the model for the coverart was a genius...

Thanks so much! And I totally agree: the cover art paintings of Anakin Solo ARE beautiful--so much so that it's tough to locate a "model" suitable for any other type of image... There are a number of terrific drawings of him here at dA, though--a quick search will turn up dozens for you! Thanks again!

Your illustration's are absolutely fantastic! I love how real they look and the expressions you give them almost make them look like photographs. Wonderful!

You're so kind--thank you so much! I wish I could take the credit for expressions, but truly: most of them come straight from the photos I use as references (with a very few exceptions): photos of the celebrities who played the roles, and photos of models I personally think are good representations of characters from the books. If you find the work "illustrative," then I've done the job I hoped to! :D I appreciate the visit and comments (and especially all the :+fav:s!)!

They're very good regardless. Seeing some of my favorite heroes drawn so beautifully is a very rare treat for me.

After the "wow" experience with your sad Han Solo, this piece also threw me out of my sox. You did a fantastic job with the aging! This looks really well!

Many thanks! I might have "side-stepped" how old he may actually have looked in LOTF (I think we're all loathe to have our heroes AGE!), especially considering he was pushing 60 then--but I tried (it didn't help that I was working from a photo of a 20-something Mark Hamill, either! LOL!)! I'm so glad you like it, though, and really appreciate your :+fav:ing this, too! :D
